Time Coding for 13/13's and Temps in FY 21 Fall

 

All 13/13's and Temps are off tour this pay period, starting this Pay Period (PP 20) please refer to the guidance below regarding coding time if you are a 13/13 or Temp.

 If you are on a fire code all time including base hrs to fire code

If you are available for fire and either staffing the load in Missoula or waiting for single resource you will charge all time including base hrs to the severity code S1111120 0152 till Sept 30th.  From Oct 1st forward it would be S1111121 0152.

 Any annual leave or sick leave is charged to WFPR9720 0197 till Sept 30th from Oct 1st forward will go to WFSE9721 0197

 If people are going to do project work for the BLM all there time will be charged to our agreement code with the BLM.

 If people are going out on project work for the Forest Service they will charge the WFSE9721 0197 after Sept 30th or current base code till then

 Working in the loft on Ram-air projects charge to WFSE9721 after Sept 30th

Schedule Change

 The Missoula Smokejumpers will be moving back to a five day schedule (Monday-Friday) starting September 27th.  We'll keep our same hours 0930-1800 until the weather turns.

THE POSITION:  The incumbant serves as the Smokejumper Loadmaster Manager for a national shared resource smokejumper program. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of loadmaster operations such as packaging and delivery, aircraft weight, balance and configurations, ramp security, and training for the smokejumper group on loadmaster operations.  The incumbent works directly for the Smokejumper Program Manager.

This is a secondary fire fighter position under the provisions of 5 USC 8336(c) and 5 USC 8412(d). This position requires extensive previous experience as a smokejumper.

 

DUTY STATION SPECIFICS:  Northern Region, Forest Service, Fire & Aviation Management located at the Aerial Fire Depot, Missoula, MT.  The Aerial Fire Depot (AFD) is responsible for interagency wildfire suppression, emergency and disaster coordination to several states and Federal agencies in the Northern Rocky Mountains.  Located on campus is a Forest Service sponsored childcare facility that provides childcare and pre-K education for Forest Service families working in the Missoula area.  To learn more, please call the Northern Rockies Learning Center at 406-829-6899.

There are an abundance of recreation facilities and opportunities located in and around the Missoula area.  These include:  public golf courses, parks, tennis courts, swimming pools, health clubs, racquetball courts, YMCA, softball diamonds, hiking trails, ice skating rink.  There are many rivers in the area for rafting, fishing and swimming.  Snowbowl ski area is less than an hour's drive from town and within a two-hour drive are Discovery, Lost Trail and Lookout Pass.  Also close to Missoula are numerous cross country ski trails, and snowmobile trails.

 

Missoula has two large hospitals, which provide a full array of inpatient and outpatient services.  Missoula has many other health care practitioners to offer.

 

Missoula residents enjoy all four seasons of the year.  The elevation is 3,205, with an average annual temperature of 45 F, with a January daily minimum of 15.5 F. and July daily maximum of 83.4 F.  The growing season averages 137 days, an average mean rainfall of 13.5 inches, and an average mean snowfall of 42.5 inches.

 

Montana has personal income tax and property tax, but NO sales tax.
