Updated 11/2/10

Here is a link to the ASC Powerpoint if you are interested. It's thrilling. If you have questions please write them down and bring them up to Diane or Sara or come to the next meeting and ask yourself.

AVUE will be making some changes in the application process beginning November 1. As a result we will not be pulling referral lists for the GS 6,7 & 8 positions until further notice.

These changes will involve a two step process.
Step 1: Build a profile and answer basic questions to see if you qualify for position.
Step 2: Provide work history and answer KSA's.

It is recommended that you-

1 .Keep existing application current.

2. Back up your info on AVUE in the event there is a system dump.

3. Check smokejumper blog for updates on this process as well as hiring. http://msosjmprs.blogspot.com/

Note: announcement numbers may change, stay tuned.

Project Work:
If you are not funded, you need to find a project. Here is what exists:

-North Dakota Leaves 4/19/10 @ 7am.
-BLM Project work leaves 7am. It's likely they will be working 4/10's, this could change if they are burning.
-There is local burning looks like 4/19/10 to 4/21/10. People are needed. Talk to Timo or Sam Phaler(406)546-6752.
-People are also needed for Ashland and Eureka. Details are 14 days. Dates are tentative and weather dependant, but would likely be occurring late April, Early May.

Please talk to Timo about your availability.

If you are doing standard refresher, make sure you have your physicals done and that you give Dianne at least 2 pay periods notice so she can make the appropriate paper work happen.

There was a good showing at this years first annual high standards PT Test. Scores were tabulated and Kurt Rohrbach earned the highest with 328 points.

Other news: There will be a total of 6 MSO Rookie Details candidates this year making their way through the 5 weeks of rookie training. Leading the charge for Missoula is Ed Lynn, Seth Hansen, and Jesse Myers.Training will be hosted primarily in Grangeville, with one week in Missoula for unit training and perhaps a few jumps.

1. Have it done through your own doc. and the FS will pay up to $105. Talk with Diane if you choose to do this, you will need paperwork. Or...

2. You can make an appt. with:
Occupational Health Services
